time to transform
I now feel more confident and happy in my skin and recognise that I make better choices for myself. I am kinder to myself and feel calmer in my day-to-day life. I’ve also overcome certain fears that in the past held me back and am willing to tackle more in the future. I am so grateful for all the effort Olivia has put into our sessions and look forward to tackling new challenges.

We all want to be better versions of ourselves somehow – physically, emotionally, psychologically or spiritually – and I had come to a point in both my professional and personal life where I had started questioning my interactions; the significance of the way people bounced off me socially; why the same behaviour patterns of those people around me would repeat themselves.
I broke it down into what I could do for myself physically and psychologically. The gym solved the physical. Emotionally and psychologically, it was a bit of an odyssey involving online searches for a good talk therapist. Where to start, counsellor? Psychoanalytic or psychodynamic therapist? How many degrees do the need to be good enough for me? Will they get me? Will we click?
I went through three to four different professionals and got pretty fed up with the process. Then through a colleague was recommended Olivia as a coaching psychologist, not a psychotherapist / counsellor etc. Was a bit sceptical to be honest, but then I looked at her background and she wasn’t off some sort of training conveyor belt. You can look for yourself, but there is international experience and context, working in a variety of coaching / teaching roles to different demographics and teams of people and so forth.
Olivia in a straightforward manner connected with my story, where others overcomplicated it. She’s very to the point but of course non-judgemental and brought to light my issues in a way that made me work with them, using them as a guide to leading my self-development, instead of a problem that needs eradicating.
Over the course of several months, I have helped understand my imposter syndrome; why I self-sabotage in all sorts of situations; how my formative years influenced both my professional and personal relationships. Olivia achieved this using evidence-based psychology practice combined with her own knowledge, experience and insight into life, others’ stories and her understanding of how and why interpersonal difficulties can develop, for example.
Although I still bear the crosses on my back, they are certainly much less of a burden than when I first started with Olivia. I am able to step back and understand my own thoughts and behaviours, whence previously I would be confused by them. I just feel freer to be me.
